In his role, Dinesh has the dual responsibility of managing local communications and branding in the Americas, Europe & Africa, and Middle East & Asia, and overseeing Wärtsilä’s social media channels. To do this, he works closely with country Managing Directors, country Communicators, business heads and business marketing to align the strategies of Wärtsilä’s businesses (Energy Solutions, Marine Solutions, Services) with local corporate activities. His charter includes guiding local Marketing Communicators in the development of new skills and channels, as well as in the development of social selling strategies for business development.
Dinesh has over 19 years of Marketing, Communications & Branding experience, having also been with companies like Nokia and Sony Pictures Television Networks (Asia). He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS), and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Lincoln University in New Zealand.
Dinesh is determined to be a lounge pianist upon retirement. To achieve that goal, he began learning to play the piano in 2013, and has earned the Grade 5 certificate in both piano music and theory from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). He is also an avid ideator. With a few app and products ideas up his sleeve, he is plotting his move into entrepreneurism.
