Atli is an industry veteran and has been making games for 20 years. Having founded the first games startup in Iceland in 1997, Atli spent several years in lead positions at EA DICE in Gothenburg and Stockholm, Sweden. In 2005 he joined Ubisoft in Shanghai as lead of online game design, contributing to products in the Tom Clancy universe. In 2006 Atli left Ubisoft and co-founded CCP Shanghai and was instrumental in the recruitment and build up of the studio.
In 2014 he co-founded Directive Games, with the mission of bringing amazing Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality competitive multiplayer games to market. The company’s first AR Game was demoed at Apple’s iPhone X keynote in September 2017.
